Thanks, Jim. I alredy red the article. You really need a high-clearance vehicle on part of the road going in to Chavez Pass (at least from the Winslow end). I've never tried getting there from Soldier Lake, the western side of the trail. It is suppose to be the old military/stage coach road to Prescott, that also went through Sunset Pass, the scene of an Indian/Calvary battle in the mid 1860's.
