Yes. Usually caves that emerge at the surface of the earth are located via infrared photography. Since the temperature in subterrannean passages is generally about 55 degrees, the colder areas appear viewed via infrared device. Film is most often used to find them since it creates a permanent record and it is easy to include longitude and latitude information via the camera (on professional models).

There are also devices that work much like sonar on a submarine. They send signals into the ground and voids will can be detected.

A combination of the above two methods are frequently used. TIP: infrared is cheaper... lots cheaper, but, less precise.
