Was there really ever a dutchman mine?
April 08, 1999 at 18:27:10
I know all of the hundreds of books and articles written about the alleged Dutchman's mine, but for all the people that followed Waltz when he was alive, they found nothing by doing so. I have heard opinions that the Superstitions were a ruse for Waltz to explain why he had gold to spend unquestionably. It is also said that Waltz and his girl highgraded ore from the tip top mine before they struck it rich in the Superstitions. Maybe Waltz wasn't a rich miner at all and he may have been a very clever highgrader. I wonder how many researchers have pondered this avenue of thought. If the Peralta's ever made a dime in the Superstitions, they are about the only ones that did. Some books even picture and describe Spanish signs and symbols found in the Superstitions. For the thousands of people that annually back pack into this region, few of them ever talk of find gold. Isn't this curious? I wonder why this statement seems to be true on the site of the most publicized lost Treasure story in history?
