Chris... I was there in 1962, with a mine detector. The owner (Bates) has to be dead, but his daughter (school teacher) may still live there. I doubt if that treasure ever existed, but I did see a real treasure. I went down in the cellar to detect the dirt floor, and I saw hundreds of old jugs and bottles. I wouldn't be surprised if some went back 200 years. Now, in 1962, there was no market for old bottles, but today, they would be worth a small fortune. As I recall, going west from Windsor Locks, just before E.Granby, there's a state Hwy that goes north. A small mountain range (large hills) runs along the west side of the road, and the Bates farm is a couple of miles north on the east side. If two 18 year old kids could find it, I'm sure you won't have any trouble. Send me a bottle dated 1776. :)
