That's just it: we need to get as much info on these people as we can get. I first heard of the "red sash" only through a recent Hollywood movie: "Tombstone"...great entertainment, but we all know just how much "fact" is actually in it, or any other movie and treasure story. What I want to know is this:

Records of the Clantons, the McLaureys, Johnny Ringo, Bill Brocious, and any others involved. This includes any records of war-time service.

The existance of a letter supposedly written by Billy Grounds to family in San Antonio, detailing how he came by $90,000 "honestly".

The law enforcement records pertaining to the rustling and robberies by the Clanton gang in that period of time.

Records pertaining to the deaths of Billy Grounds and Zwing Hunt.

Something like that shouldn't be hard to come across. A search of county records in Bisbee, Arizona would be a good start, as well as the Tombstone Court House, the Tombstone Epitaph newspaper, the University of Arizona archives, and records in San Antonio relative to Billy Grounds.
