Have I heard of this treasure? You bet I have! I live approximately 35 miles away from where its supposed to be buried. Dutch Schultz was a famous bootlegger back in the 1920s and 1930s who used to use upstate NY as his hide out and "cooling off" zone after any run-ins with the law. Legend has it that he buried quite a bit of money and jewelry in a trunk somewhere in the vicinity of Phoenicia NY or possibly Big Indian. Rumors range from the location being at the grounds of one of his many hide outs in the woods to right off state route 28. To date, as far as anyone knows, it hasn't been found yet.
