I've been hunting a CW site here in Newport NC and have located 4 whole projectiles, one of which was a hotchkiss round. They were at an average depth of 14 inches below the surface. The area they were located was between sand ridge and swamp. I was using a CZ-20. I've heard of underground tunnels used for ammunition storage near forts. Also, boggs that were used to "dispose" of artillary and munitions in the face of enemy advancement. I know of one such bogg here in Newport that I suspect was used for that very purpose.I ran the CZ-20 over the area but didn't hear anything. I believe the Two-Box would be the ticket here. -Curt in NC-
