Help in Identification
August 29, 1999 at 19:53:03

I am rather new at THing and I was wondering how do you identify the rings that you find as to whether or not they are gold, silver, etc. There are a lot of junk jewlery out there and I am rather ignorant as how to tell if it is the real thing or not. Also, what about diamonds? I know that real diamonds are supposed to be able to scratch glass, but what about all those imitation diamonds like zirconas and stuff? Do they make imitations that have similar properties? One more thing, I know that when you get enough of these pieces of jewlery, some people sell them, but how? Do you take them to a pawn shop? I know one person that sells them at the flea market, but how would you know what kind of price to ask?
