Wells Fargo Robbery in South-Western-NY?
January 18, 2000 at 19:32:23

I recently heard a story that around 1870s-1900s there was a Wells Fargo robbery bewteen Ellington and Kennedy NY. Supposedly the robbers were chased down and shot on sight. The road is supposedly the same today as then (RT.62). The loot was supposedly a strong box full of gold, and they buried it somewhere along Rt.62 between Kennedy and Ellington. Its about a 6mile winding stretch through a narrow valley with shale rock cliffs, a small stream, and small fields & woods. Has anyone heard anything about this, or is this just another tall tale?? I looked around for info a little bit, but I'm just getting into T-hunting, so I am in the dark as far as research. Any info, or thoughts????
