There is a manuscript in the Library of Congress American Memory section titled "Lost Adams Diggings" that was dictated by E.V. Batchler of New Mexico in 1938. In it he claims to have known an individual that had direct association with Adams. He also provides Adams first name as being "Edwards". It's an intersting tale but rambles some. Go to:
