I've been detecting now for a little over 5 years and have some basic curiosity about whether or not any real, genuine treasure ever gets found. Yeah, I've seen a few guys telling how they found a cache or two, but nothing that really gets me all that excited about devoting much time to researching stories that are little more than folk tales. I can also understand that it would not be prudent to broadcast the fact you've found something big. I'm just having trouble being a believer when it comes to most lost mine and treasure fables. How many legitimate land based treasures have been recovered and reported, say, within the last 5 years? I tend to wonder why the people who bought the books wasted their money.
