Date 8 March 1845 Steamboat Ruby within 40 Miles of Mobile Alabama 10 to 12 thousand in specie (silver) boat and cargo in 50 feet of water, total loss several lives lost was run into by Steamship Red Rover Cptn. Burrell news article appeared in Cincinnati Daily Commercial, Thursday March 20,1845
