Joe, don't think you will have much luck with steamboat wrecks in the US until after 1807. The 1st reported steamboat I could find was by an ex french military officer named Count d'Auxiron who put a Newcomon steam engine in a boat which promply sank from the weight that was in 1772 in France. The 1st US steamboat was built around 1807 by ole Robert Fulton.
