Info needed on "Rosin Wreck"

May 29, 2001 at 08:31:45

Does anyone have information on the "Rosin Wreck" that is about 10 miles NE of Frying Pan Shoals light in NC? I can't find any history, age or even the real name of the wreck when I checked my sources.

She is in 110-112 fsw, and settled heavily to the port side. Iron wreck (wooden upper deck?), screw steamer / coal fired, carrying cargo of rosin in wooden barrels, and the ship is mostly entact. Our guess is that it is about 100 years old.

Any info would be appreciated!
