The fleet wrecked at Aves was a French miliitary fleet. No treasure was being carried. Just weaponry. Also the area is wave swept and there is apparently little sand on the bottom to cover or protect things and so any artifacts reamining at the site tend to be severely oxidized. There are also apparently a lot of cannon and anchors scattered around but little else. From persons I spoke to who went out there some years back with the thip, The Explorer, the entire operation was a bust. French military ships simply did not carry treasure and the investors who had been convinced otherwise lost their shirts on this one. JR
