The Trashy Fairgrounds

May 06, 1998 at 11:30:12

My father and I recently got permission to hunt a old town fairground from the early 1850's, this site is about 30 acres and is prime for good coinshooting but the trash is unbelievable, it's everywhere!! Mostly bottle caps that are very rusted at about 5 inches. they give good readings and are the biggest pain. I am not sure what meathod I should use in hunting this site. Should I put on a smaller coil? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I know the site has coins in it because my Dad foud a silver washington quarter and a merc last time we were there. I feel that the trash might be masking the older, deeper silver coins.

thanks for any help you could give me
