Matt, like Jamie said usually you have to keep going back and clean that junk out of the way to get a clear reading on the older coins. I hunted a house that was built in 1711 about 5 times, and so far besides 1 King George copper, the oldest coin was a 1902 indian head. The only problem is the people might not be too happy seeing you out there every weekend......Jim
