Bike Path Silver.

May 07, 1998 at 23:53:17

A construction crew is digging a biking/walking path through one of the older city parks and one of the equipment operators directed me to where they are dumping the top soil near by. After about an hour of working the piles I came up with 1917 mercury dime, 1914 barber dime, and 1889 indian head penny. The barber dime was inside a large hard dirt clod. I snapped the dirt clod in two and the barber fell at my feet.....what a feeling! The earth work kind of breaths new life into this area as I know this park has been hunted dozens of times. Bob
