War of 1812 Fort hunt

May 09, 1998 at 18:06:49

Finally got to hunt a War of 1812 small fort near me. It took some time hitting the books to locate. This was the first hunt at the site. It sits on 160 acres. I found 3 muzzle loader balls. One was dropped and two were fired. My hunting buddy found another dropped one. I found an old buckle and part of a blacksmith tool. Also found part of an Indian Spearhead made of black flint on the surface. We hope to hunt again soon, because they are about ready to plant the fields. We still need to locate the exact spot of the fort.

Happy Hunting from Ohio.
