WOW, those guys cleaned house!!!

August 21, 1998 at 20:26:39

I wanted to go detecting and my son wanted to swim with a friend. So, I met them half-way. We went to a state park and they swam while I detected. I know there are several guys who work this place like a wolfpack with their XLTs. Boy, those guys really combed the beach.

I only found five pulltabs, a dime, a penny, and a "Hot Wheels" car (plus a couple sharp pieces of metal that I pitched in the trashcan).

This beach was trash-filled last time I saw it. Then, the XLT gang came into the place.

So, after taking out my new machine for a test drive, I can say this... although the clay and hot-rock bed is about six inches down, the new Land Star handled itself beautifully. Too bad the wolfpack got there before me... but, hey, sweeping this beach meant a signal was generally a good one.
