The swastica symbol was used extensively on promotional items in the 1800's representing good luck. I recently came across a surface dump at a remote cavalry encampment site in Wyoming. There were many old lead seal cans in this dump. Although there was no longer any distinguishing labels on any of the cans a number of them (about the size of a modern soup can) had a swastica embossed on one end.
