Second Day With QXT, 3 Silvers, Buffalo, & ID Car Token Please!

February 01, 1999 at 07:41:52

Welp, my brother finaly gave into letting me hunt his 40 to 50 year old house (he is moving). Despite it being relatively new, I figured I get at least some silver from the 50s but I did even better! This is the second day out with my Quantum XT this year and the first target I dug was a 1936 Buffalo (no mint mark) in real good condition, although the coin is dark (how do you clean nickles?). Anyway, I was surprised to get this year coin but there are older houses nearby and his house is a corner lot, so it may have been people cutting the corner or kids playing ball there. I then dug a 1941 Merc (no mint mark...the rare one), a 1940 Merc, and a 1951 silver dime. All are in good to great shape. I never expected any Mercs and didn't hold real high hopes for his yard. Can't wait to go back. Oh, and I also got a token the size of a quarter made out of alumimnum which reads something like "Antique Car Token Series", and on the back it has the name and picture of a car and says "1914". Any idea what this is from?
