Where do you start when you've been given permission to detect a property where the house was built in 1844? There is a large yard with old trees, a shed, clothes poles(old metal)and several other interesting areas. I don't have a lot of time and I would like to find something to show the owner(we've become friends). Some say they've started near the house others by trees. Is there a good formula to follow?
