re Old Houses

I have worked several over the years and certain things follow through. All of this is based on the dirt being undisturbed.

#1 see if you can find the privy/outhouse, when you drop your drawers you lose stuff #2 the most dropped coins will be where someone got in/out of a car or buggy and went for their keys..this would be rich folks mostly...other folks on horseback would have ridden into the barn or stable...rich folks handed the horse over to a slave/helper when not in a buggy. Therefore figure out where the driveway was back then. #3 as stated before a radius around the front porch is super, as well as the sidewalk..when someone approaches the house walking they would reach into a pocket for keys....dropping whatever else is in the pocket #4 kids drop more than adults...figure out where they played...many times around a front or back porch, when you find marbles, you got the right spot #5 search around chimneys for caches #6 the person doing the wash might lose a ring with those wet hands, but it was often a poor helper that had no rings #7 big, big old trees
