Rusty Pennies..

September 17, 1998 at 23:14:42

I found three pennies down about seven inches. One penny is a 1929 Wheat and is in good shape. The other two pennies that were in the same hole are extremely rusty and you can barely tell that they are pennies. I have never found pennies that look like these two. Is it possible that these are a couple of "steel" war pennies?? Is their anything I can do to try and salvage these two pennies?? P.S. In the same general area I found 1942S and 1941 war nickels and a couple of older wheat pennies in good shape. Any thoughts??? Take care.....Bob
