NY and local MD laws ?

Hi everyone,
What a nice forum this looks to be.I am a new MD user, 3 day now. Sofar I have scanned my yard and found about 2.00 in pocket change "it's a small yard" I was happy to see that my Garrett 1000GATx works . I bought it used with no manuel.Was happy to see that I could get good at pointing items in the ground.Now that the yard is done I need to move on. I would like to do parks and beaches. Can anyone help me with the local laws for upstate New York area Rochester ???
