Found a 42 quarter 1917&1920 wheatie @ the same hunted out site

I am hunting a site that I long since gave up on. Hunted it real hard when I was a newbie and got discouraged. Did find my first wheatie there (1916), but it was badly injured with a lawnmower. I gave up until I got to be a little better treasure hunter, then I thought I ought to give it one more shot. It was amazing I was digging at least a couple of old coins each visit, digging the deep ones 3-8". Since then I have found half dozen 40's and 50's wheaties half a dozen 10's and 20's wheaties. A 1944 mercury dime, 1942 Quarter, and best of all and maybe a fluke, A 1887 indian cent in XF condition. Outside of being a rich shade of green, it looks so good almost brings a tear to my eye. The moral to the story? Don't give up. Go on your first hunches and ignore what you think isn't there after your first few visits. Sometimes it takes a little while before you find the "hot spots" a site has to offer. Go back to where you started and see what you've learned. Jim~ Iowa
