The best way to clean up any copper coin is simply soap and water followed by using a tooth brush lightly. Using reverse electrolysis on copper coins will clean them but it will also turn them black. Another thing you can try is putting it in distilled white vinegar with a small amount of salt. Be sure to check the coin often to make sure there is no adverse effects. Sometimes the coins take hours to days to come clean with this method. Chris D
