Help with id of copper coin
March 30, 2000 at 07:04:24

Recently I dug an old copper coin,it's blank on one side. The other side has a head facing to the right and on the left side of the coin, behind the head, are four latin letters,GVLI.They start right at the bottom of the coin and read up along the edge of the coin. The letters are right in a row so they have to be the start of a name or legend.Searched through a book covering world coins from 1700-1800 to no avail. The coin is roughly the size of a large cent.Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks!
