Roger, I saw your post in the metal detecting forum and I'm not quite sure why anyone would want to bash you over your comments you made. I believe it was a good post and was interested to see what kind of response you recieved. Guess someone just had cabin fever and had to take it out on someone! Now to the question, I believe most of us that have been in this hobby for some time know what we want and will proably order it through mail order catalogs to try to get it as cheap as possible. The articles that we would want from a dealer would be more in the order of digging tools, head phones, books, maps etc... Where the dealer would be useful is for the novice or beginner who has no idea of what they may want because of all the models on the market today. That's where you would come in to play to show them the advantages of one unit over another and to start them off in the right direction. My first detector was bought through a White's dealer who really helped my dad and me get started and was of tremondous help to us by taking us out with him on our first outings. We bought every detector from him since then which totaled 6 detectors in all. He has closed shop since then and retired so now I will probably go thru mail order for my next one. Hope I have helped you in what you are looking for from a dealer. Good Hunting... Craig in MI.
