Eric Thomas, I just gave a $90,000,000 Treasure to the public trying to see if there really is a professional recovery firm out there. I haven't heard of one yet. The story I releaced is on this web page. //TreasureHunt.MiningCo.Com. Scroll down to the feature of the week of June, 25th, 1998. I cracked Drake's navagational chart code with NERS. And NERS has provided 45 sites for me in the Pacific states half of the United States.

One thing I learned early was that any metal detector only has a depth of a maximun of 24 inches. I can't live with that. Suppose the Treasure one sought was four feet deep. See how much Treasure one would leave behind? Iron is the exception. How did I get this data? In Buffalo Wyoming I was looking for a cache and I was digging 36 inch holes measured with a ruler. All of the holes were nicely squared off. I was a heavy drinker in those days and I finally emptied all of my beer cans in those 36 inch holes. I filled the holes and leveled them off to look like nothing had happened. The next day I went over this area with a Garette Treasure Master Seven and a Fisher Two Box detector. Guess what happened? You guessed it, neither detector acknowledged the presence of metal.

But still it's a tough thing to set down a detector, because something rattles around in your head that says, "If you want to find a metal Treasure, you need a metal detector". I'm still hooked. I do use a metal detector if the mosquetos rally. You can swat a bunch of them quick with that round head!

When I am ready to scan a cache area, I hire a Geophysical scaning company to tell me where the metal is. These people charge $500 per day. These people have found tons of gold all over Canada, the U.S. and the rest of the world. They know the mining business! They are worth their salt. Sincerely, Richard
