Capital Letter E and Mine directions

The following information is an item that I have never found in a book and will probably only be needed for a few treasure hunters. If someone wants to use it in a publication you have my permission.
About three years ago I found a number of Spanish symbols that eventually led me to an historic mine. One of the symbols was a capital letter "E". What was unique about this capital letter "E" was on the upper right hand corner (on the tip of the bar).
Attached to the base of the tip of this top bar were two (2) squares, one below the other.
On top of the tip of the base line (lower right hand corner of the capital letter "E") was a square with a diagonal line starting in the upper right hand corner of the square and moving down to the lower left hand corner of the square.
You may want to draw this symbol in order to visualize it.
Now I have heard that some people say the Capital letter "E" is a "reverse" or "turn around" sign.
I don't believe this is true in all cases. I have found the following to be true:
1. The two squares in the upper right hand corner indicate a vertical shaft.
2. The square in the lower right hand corner indicates there is a mine, but the mine entrance is closed or has been filled in.
3. The capital letter "E" indicates the direction of travel. If the capital letter "E" is on a slant the direction to go is in the direction of the points of the letter(in a normal direction this would be to the right). If it is slanted up or down then go that direction. If it is reversed or the letter is turned backward than that would be the direction to travel.
Oh, by the way. The mine that I found was registered in Santa Fe prior to the 1680 revolution. Supposedly it has not been seen since. I finally discovered it about three months ago. It was called the Ladder Mine in English.
