Hi Brian, I haven't been on the net for a while. I've been out working on another site dealing with 285 pounds of fresh minted coins. I took a dive after my partner embessled $750,000 (My half of the Agency Oregon cache). Originally it was 600 pounds from two murdered prospectors leaving Jacksonville Oregon against the advice of friends in 1852. I think this was the years. Anyway the story is in one of Ruby Elholts books. You probably know the enigma?
The Indian murderer lived on the gold for about twenty five years before he told the event to his kin. This latest news of the Jacksonville robbery hit Treasure magazine in 1984. It was a NERS site so it looked good and we worked it. We found the pile of rocks the gold was under in three days. after that I was robbed of my share, but I still have my life. So I'm working these sites alone as best as I can.
(Skeleton Canyon)
I may have told you this before, but if I didn't here is the story. As you recall I have many NERS sites in Arizona and New Mexico etc. I was talking to a guy on the net who's daddy was friendy with many of the early characters associated with the Skeleton Canyon bunch, even some of their whores. I was very impressed with his research.
I had a NERS plot on this Gold south of Lordsburg a few miles, but I had never been there before, like many of my NERS site plots. I do the research if there is anything on them but I had always been waiting around for a corporate shelter that knew the ropes of Treasure hunting, logistics and liquidation of the finds. This never happened, apparently they don't exist? I went from bad to worse with my association with crooks and the like. I'm lucky to be alive.
Anyway, back to the story. This man said that a cook was out prospecting south of Shakespear many years ago from Tombstone and he found a little cave with gold bullion bars stacked in it. Before the cook could be pined down to the exact area he died in a bar fight. This man on the net really seemed to know the area of my NERS plot so I excitedly co-orsponded with him. I should have known that this Guy would never share that gold after looking for it all of his life and that of his fathers life too. I'm a little dumb this way aqbnout people. I can't tell the liars from the good guys.
He sent me some Terra maps and said give me the area which (was four miles south of Shakespear right near a ranch road cuting north east and south west) so he could get permission for us to search. I gave him the co-ordinates. He said this land was still owned by the Hughs family and that the bullion was cached still on Hughs land. He said that this was the $80,000 portion of the Billy Grounds and Hughs money allegedly taken from the montertey portions of the money left behind to be picked up by new wagons.
The last time I was through there near lordsburg, the site was deader than yesterdays newspsper. Another one got away from me Brian! People are basically liars and thieves and I won't deal with them ever again!
Take this sharing anyway that you like Brian, but in my book that area is dead with a capitol D. The bird is gone, I would give up the search if I would you and other too. It doesn't matter what happened and the issues that are historical. THE MONEY IS GONE, so why pursue it?
Best wishes,
Richard
