I'm new to the hobby too, and I asked the same question you did about selling the jewelry. Someone told me they sell to a local gold/silver dealer for the gold content only. I would think a pawn shop would work too. If you suspect you have a ring of value (diamond/gold) you could have it appraised or just ask a local jeweler about it, that would tell you if the diamond is real or not. Good luck! BT!
