I don't consider myself an old man, but I first became interested in treasure markings over 50 years ago. Since that time I've collected everything I've found addressing that subject. As a professional treasure consultant I've studied thousands of so called treasure signs & symbols, plus many waybills and maps sent to me from TH'ers around the globe. In my opinion most treasure art is decipherable but it is not easy. Often I spend over a thousand hours breaking a small map. Treasure clues themselves are useless if you don't know the exact place they were found. Treasure clues all interact with other things in the area where they were found. The questions we always need answers too are: 1.Were they were on a horizonal or vertical surface. 2.What other symbols were found near them and how were they orientated in relation to one another. 3.How far could you see from the site-line of sight distance. 3.What is the topography of the site. My wife shares my fasination with TH'ing and doubles as the photographer for our work. Our collection of photos and video tape contains at least 400 hours of tape and several drawers full of photos of treasure clues from treasure projects we have been a part of or advisors to. In all my years of working with tree carvings, petroglyphs, pictographs, intaglios and treasure clues of all types, I have met only one person that had the foggist idea of how to read these clues. In conversations with famous TH'ers in this business, we've learned most do not have a treasure clue specialist on their team. That is not because they don't need one,its because they can't find one that can deliver... The problem with treasure clue interpetation is that everyone has their own idea about what what they mean and since nobody ever challanges their work they remain self proclaimed experts. In our work clients don't buy excuses for not making headway on their project. They demand something for their money. The pro TH'ing business is just like being a lawyer.. The only stock you have in your trade is the education, experience and knowledge you have gained by doing what you do. People who write treasure sign books giving a simple, one sentence explaination for complex symbols and sell them for a few bucks a copy are only snapping your garters. If they actually knew how to read treasure signs they darn sure wouldn't sell that info so cheaply. Let me make this point and I'll hush.....A few years ago a person well known for his/her (I won't say which) expertise in pre-Colombian rock art, published a terrific book on ancient European symbols found across America. The book makes a good case that most of the carvings represent religious beliefs etc. However in studying the book we discovered it contained several classic KGC waybills and maps depicted as ancient artwork. One of those bills produced treasure in short order since the author had already done most of the footwork for us. So experts come and experts go. If your expert leads you to treasure he is the expert in my book. If he just takes your money and makes excuses for not finding anything..You decide what he is! God loves us all expert or not! Hillbilly
