Jacob Snively Mine
October 22, 1999 at 23:21:17

Does anyone have information about this lost mine and its discoverer, Col. Jacob Snively? I recently went over some research about this Texan, which is conflicting. I believe he found a rich gold mine in the 1860's, and looked for it in Texas in 1865-67, risking life and limb with alot of famous pioneers, including Moses Carson and war veterans from the war with Mexico. I believe Snively went on to help found Pino Altos and Wickenburg mining comunities. He never found his mine, but claimed it was the richest one he had ever seen, and was somewhere is Texas, which seems strange. Any history or info would be appreciated... Thanks, Curly
