Hi Hillbilly Bob, My older brother sent me a very interesting book over 25 years ago. The title: "Jesse James Was One of His Names." It was supposedly written by Jesse's great grandson. (Like you, I've done a lot of treasure research. I've usually found the book and magazine articles are inaccurate enough so that you could never use the information to find a treasure, but they sometimes point you in the right direction to do more research.) This book was about the Knights of the Golden Circle, and Jesse James was supposed to be the ring-leader of this group. The author said it was disbanded about 1912...talk about diehards! I didn't take the book seriously because I figured that the author could make a lot more money digging up the treasures (if he really knew where any of them were) than he could selling books about it. I am a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, The Lees of Virgina, and the American Civil War Society. I would like to know where the confirming discovery you described was published (i.e. newspaper, public records, etc.) so that I can present this information as history at our next SCV society meeting. This would tend to confirm that Jesse James was not just an itinerant bank and train robber as most historians have depicted him, but a member of a sophisticated underground Confederate organization with post-war political goals.

Thank you for your assistance,

Nevada Charlie
