I am not saying or insinuating anything here, just repeating what I read. The only additional information on hand is this, the Mexicans, who came North searching for this treasure, both claimed the map was obtained many years before their time, from a tribe of Plains Indians (possibly Commanche?)who traded it for food. The original chart was said to be held by a Catholic Mission in Mexico and the maps were copies of that chart. The date on the document is 1897. There is nothing to indicate Mel Fisher searched for this particular treasure. Its only possible that he was aware of this journal since he was close to where the landmarks and symbols were found that are mentioned on the map. Mr. Fisher searched for treasure in several midwest and near west states including NM. That is all there is to tell except that the story mentions a Red Sandstone Bluff as being a landmark needed to locate the treasure site. If anyone is able to decipher the symbolic code it could prove interesting. Dutch
