If you're in AZ, you're in the wrong state September 08, 2000 at 15:46:40 In Reply to: SKELETON CANYON TREASURE AT DAVIS MOUNTAIN posted by Zwing on September 08, 2000 at 11:55:21 I was told several years ago, by one who claimed to know, that the "correct" Davis Mountain is actually located somewhere between present Lordsburg and Silver City, NM (probably off Thompson Canyon). The outlaw gang had their own private code for landmarks - they knew that the rest of the world would assume Davis Mountain was the site near Galeyville, AZ, and not the correct ringer in NM. These guys were clever - that's why this stash isn't where the TH magazines claim.
