I see your still around.: ) Actually the info of where this loot could have came from to the point of those Mexican getting kill was lost right when they died. There is no way that the info could have survived after that. The story that Jim Hughes would go down in to Mexico and find out when a smuggler train would be coming north. I'm sure the smugglers would be telling everybody yes we just robbed the bank and or church of Monterrey. So this loot could have came from anywhere. It may not even be loot from any robbery. It could have come from number of mines, (like you said) Maximilian's Riches, or maybe a Jesuit Treasure that was found. Back then Skeleton Canyon was just a way to get from point A to point B, it wasn't some secret pass that was just used by smuggler. And the name Skeleton Canyon came after the massacre, because of all the skeletons that was found sometime after the massacre. Really at this point it doesn't matter where the loot came from. Jim Hughes was about 18yrs when all this came down. I do think that Hughes did find out something about this loot coming though. He was just in the right place at the right time. Well its getting late boys. I'm taking the kids camping tomorrow, so I'll be gone for a couple days. If anyone would like to hear the rest of the story. I'll give are take of what happen afterwards. Like how did Hughes get has split of the loot. How he got it to Lordsburg, married, lived about another 9 years and die from sickness. And how the main treasure came to rest. Like what a man told me in an E-mail that became friends with the Hunt family. That the treasure can only be found with the info that the Hunt family has. Which means to me that they haven't told everything. So there is so much bs added to this story. I do know and have seen there is one part of the story that is true, the directions.
