WV Treasure Story (Buckhannon River)

I am looking for information on a story about a cache supposedly hidden near Shahan on the Buckhannon River around 1900. It was about a Spainiard that was living in the area and suddenly came up missing then later sent word, back from Spain, for one of the locals to assist him in retrieving some money that he had hidden on the Buckhannon River.

This story was in a WV Treasure book of some sort which I can no longer find. I would like to have the actual story back again.
