Any Indian mines that are found that are still open probably don't have anything in them. The eastern Cherokee and Creek tribes sealed all their mines before they were escorted to Oklahoma in 1838, by the calvary. They sealed all their valuables, including raw gold & silver, in mines and caves and marked the entrances before they left. Unless you can read the signs correctly, your chances of finding the entrances are slim. I have seen no written records of how the layout of their mines were done. I assume they were done, like the white man would do, using timbers to shore the walls and ceiling. John Veal has written an interesting and informative book about eastern Indian tribes and their treasures. There is still a lot of Indian treasure out there!
