Boomer, I would have to agree that to raise money to resurrect the dying south's efforts was insane. They needed this money before the south failed, not after the south failed when the carpet baggers took over.

I haven't a clue why the KGC was started? Perhaps they were just a bunch of bandits like you say. I do know that when Larry Williams ran the THC a group in Utah found one of their trasures worth 500,000 they said. Small, sure, but spendable it seems.

Apparently, there was honor amoung theives, because even though the Southern effort failed, by the KGC, if there was ever a group called the KGC, the money stayed in the ground and wasn't compromised by any of the members.

I believe there is something too this sonario, but I am not clear what their purpose was nor how they planned to pull it off? It obviously failed IF there was a KGC?
