There wer two san saba missions, the first was located about 300 miles from the rio grand at the area of san saba tx, the church records state that the first san saba mission was just across the rio grand, this is the mission that I know of its location in regan cannon, as far as the treasure goes is this the records states that they had a friendly tribe of indians helping them mine gold, and the mission sent to mexico city a runner asking for the train to be sent from spain to pick up the gold shipment, the records says that a ship was sent from spain and about 100 men to pick up the shipment, the captain reported back to mexico that they could not find the mission, that the indians must have burnt it down and covered it up.it was lost forever, but a friend of my stepdad went huntting and found a building foundation 50 wide and 100 feet long, the foundation was mand out of flagstone (large flat stones) there is no way for a house to be in this location no trees and in deep wilderness, it fits , the indians hated the white man so bad that they would burn down and cover it up camping on the spot until it was gone, this foundation can only been seen after a hard freeze, just the outlines of the stones could be seen, dont care what anyone says they did not find san saba #1, the priest in mexico city said that a shipment was about $10.000.00 for the train to be sent. does anypne want to help me on this I need someone in alpine tx to do some leg work.
