Ahhh, I see you found a holed coin (top row 2nd in from the left)
surely must have been a true keepsake
worn around the neck of the former owner.
    Well done Sherm, nice coppas!!

    Happy 2008 my friend!

They don't even classify as cookie coins!
I found 1/2 of one the other day, my first 1/2 cent! :P

But I think you're in the running for top picks in this category.
    Happy Hunting!

    Re: BEST OF 2007

Well Sherm, I almost beat you today. Almost went out! I got all my gear laid out and headed out the door, ran into the cold north wind, did a u-turn and came back in! It's not that cold, just 42, but with a 20 mph wind, brrrrr! Me and the boss lady have been talking about moving south . My daughter lives in Austin and it was 73 there today. This darn global warming is freezing me to death! We usually have a couple of 70+ degree days each month during the winter, but not this year. I didn't hunt a single day this month and that too is unusual for me. At least you gave it a try. Good luck in the coming year and behave yourself tonight. Monty

    Re: BEST OF 2007

    Montana Jim,
    stop "have a good un."
    never
    have a good un............

    Gibbsium,
hope you and yours enjoy the new year.

    Monty,
I can remember when I would get on a site
(rain or shine, hot or cold)
and it would still be the false dawn; entering the
woods would find me stumbling in the dark.
Those were the days my friend
Good luck for you and yours.
Hope we both have more time hunting next year,
and bring in some interesting finds.

Perhaps a toast tonight between you and I:
"Nobody grows old merely by living a number of years.
We grow old by deserting our ideals. Years may wrinkle
the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul."
    ~Samuel Ullman

    Tennessee-Joe,
envy is a strange thing. (more quotations) :P
Remember what writer, politician and great roman orator,
    Cicero (106-43 BC), said:

"I never admire another's fortune so much that I
    became dissatisfied with my own."

Hope you have an outstanding year detecting in 08.

    all have a good un.....
