    CRUSADER TEAMS 2007 RESULTS

This has probably been our best year ever. We have new land for 2008 & I can say now we will be having a prosperous new year (well as soon as the harvest is in Aug). It helped the only holiday I had this year was in a muddy field

    1 Celtic Bronze Coin
    1 Celtic Silver (pictured)
    234 Roman Bronze Coins
8 Roman Silver Coins - including a Julius Caesar 49 BC, earliest coin ever!
39 Medieval Hammered Coins including my first Gold hammered
    Spanish copper cob

    Bronze age Axe head (pictured)
    Viking Strapend (pictured)
    Viking Stirrup Mount (pictured)
    Saxon chip carved belt mount
    First Saxon strap junction

Pictured in no particular order are the highlights of our year:

1 - 1800BC (over 3500 years old) complete Bronze Age Axehead - First bronze age item, although this year we had a further 2 pieces of axehead.

2 - Viking Stirrup Mount (10th century)- My first, our second ever (Dad had a plain one in Aug), rare with less than five recorded of this type. Mine is one of the best examples.

3 - Viking Strapend (11th century) - our first ever

4 - Rare Silver Denarius of Galba AD68-69

    5 - Celtic Silver Unit of Cunobelin AD20 - 27th ever recorded

    6 - Dutch Gold hammered cica 1351

man if those could only talk. I would just love to know who made and used that axehead. that gold is so intricately designed with the ship, sword, shield and writing it is hard to believe how old it is, not to mention it is in such great condition.

congratulations on such a great year, thank you for sharing, and I hope you have many more.

Well done Crusader and Crusader Dad!
I have learned a lot from reading your post and seeing your photos. Thank you for your help in identifying some of the stuff I found in Europe in 2007. Your finds keep me to returning to England to detect and with the current monetary exchange rate my portfolio manager is working overtime. lol
Happy New Year to you both!

    Re: CRUSADER TEAMS 2007 RESULTS

Congratulations...you and the gold guys without a doubt had some amazing finds and top the charts.... Obviously not to many of us can compete with your finds if any...especially in U.S. But I also took a look at the Bulgarians beach finds just posted(gold rings)...and I need to get out again soon... even if I just find clad and a few scrap value silvers....planning on digging more junk signals and run tests with new program...I want to double my gold finds this year...none of the silver coins I found were good enough to make my collection so I gave them to my son to play with and add to his collection... Have a great 08!
