For getting out more times than I can really believe, my totals for the year weren't too bad. Basicly only hunting school yards, tot lots, and city parks, my total take wasn't bad. I ended the year with a total of 5850 coins, of which 3,799 were pennies. I also found 16 silver rings, 3 gold rings, and 7 gold and silver pieces of jewelry. I was only able to find 5 silver coins. A 1940 Washington Quarter, 3 Rosies, and an 1853 half dime. I felt that I had a very good year. There was also much other jewelry, scouting stuff, keys, zipper pulls, shells, and on and on. When the coins that I didn't keep were cashed in, they totaled $357.40.

Now if we can only get rid of the snow so I can start 2008.
HH all and hope everyone is very successful this year.

Those are not "lowly" totals. Almost 6000 coins! That's a nice $$$ total as well as some nice rings.

What no picture of the lowly half dime? ;)

I was going to include photos of it, but I had already posted it when I found it. Found it on my birthday, of all days, and it was a real surprise. It had been hit with something at sometime, as it was bent a little, but it is my oldest coin by far. Pulled it out at 8".

Don't know if I will come close to that total again this year or not. Many of the places that I was hunting hadn't been hit for a number of years, and it's going to take a while to replenish them. But, I'm sure going to try.

Well, sitting here another day without being able to get out and hunt, I thought that I would go back and dig out a picture of the lowly half dime. Enjoy!
