    2009 For Me!

This being my first year at detecting I had a Blast to say the least.Other than some copper that I've already took to the scrap yard and a bucket of scap lead I have buried and can't get to very easy this is what I have found picked up.99% has come from the river with the paper pieces coming from a old house I'd went in last spring.Enjoy you All!

"Fantastic!" doesn't do justice to your FIRST YEAR of finds!! You've found at least two pieces (if not more) which any museum would covet (spoon mold and rare Continentl Army button); you've found countless more humble artifacts which 'tell the story' of how people lived; you've knocked yourself out researching this stuff; you've found cobs we drool over; you've kept a record of it all; and you shared it all with us!!!! Thank you 'TimerKiller"!!! It doesn't gt any better than this!!!

Pete, I am without words, buddy! You are truly an amazing hunter and I'm glad I have been able to get to know you on this forum over the past year.

That spoon mold alone is enough for a banner year. The cut silvers, cobs, Rev War button, and coppers are just the sweet icing on your 2009 cake!

I am wishing you another successful season in '10, Pete!!!

    Re: 2009 For Me!

I think you have to quit! Noone should do so well their first year! You will be spoiled now and hard to control if you continue with such great finds! I think the Spoon Mold will be remembered by many on this forum as one of the top finds of the year, without a doubt!

"The mantra has always been don't clean a (copper) coin or it will lose value.
For undug coins this is true.  For dug coins this is untrue.
The value will increase with judicious cleaning."

I guess you hijacked this thread didn't you.

    Oh yeah, you started it.

Awesome year Pete. This is the stuff people hope to find in a lifetime. Me, in two lifetimes. :P

I'll be watching this thread to see if anyone's got the balls to show you up. You gave the Brits. a run for the money this year.

Now you got to set goals for 2010. That's going to be though.

Kyle and I also have had a great time viewing your posts and getting to know the Colonial Timekiller. Your finds have always been awesome and I can't wait to see what else you dig on these Colonial port sites. You must dig and dig and dig until there are no more cut silvers on that riverbank.

    Keep the passion high!
