Hello everyone and happy new years! This year has been a spectacular year of metal detecting for my brother and I. Even though We didn't get out nearly as much as we wanted to we found significantly more than last year. In total we found: 2 dollar coins, 1 half dollar, 286 quarters, 408 dimes, 144 nickels, and 1295 pennies. We also found 8 washington state tax tokens, numerous other tokens, nearly 30 foreign coins (all canadian), 18 keys, many toy cars, bullet casings, fish weights, etc. Our best finds were 93 wheat pennies, 2 silver spoons, 14 pieces of silver jewelry, a gold ring, some old buttons, and 15 silver coins. The rarer/older date wheat we found are: 1923-s, 1916, 1918, 1919-s, 1925-D, 1917-s, 1911, 1918, 1920, 1910-s, 1917-s, 1919, 1923-s, and 1930-s. Our notable other non-silver coins were: a 1901 indian head penny, a 1936-s buffalo nickel, and a 1938-D buffalo nickel. Our silver coins were: a 1909-D Barber Quarter, a no date SLQ, 1932, 1942-s, 1952-s, and 1964 Washington quarters, 1919-s, 1945-D, 1944-D, 1945-S, and 1945-s Merc Dimes, 1962-D, 1948-s, and 1958-D silver rosies, and finally 2 1943-S war nickels. We also found a WWI National Army button which was quite interesting.
This year was filled with firsts for us such as our first gold object, our first mercury dime(and subsequent 4), our first barber coin, our first SLQ, and many other great finds. Thanks treasurenet community for being so supportive, now go out and find some treasure!
