    2009 MY FAVORITE FINDS

This was my first real season of detecting I started in '08 but never got out much. In '09 I found my first 1800's coin a 1838 large cent in primo cond. in early spring. After that I was hooked for sure. My 4 other largies are 1844,1845, 1829(melted), and my oldest coin 1813. I also found 2 early seated dimes 1857 & 1840. Indians were scarcer than I imagined but I did get some old ones 1863, 1864 were the oldest. Military relics thrill me as much or more than coins and I found some sweet ones indeed! The eagle belt plate is a war of 1812 militia artillery officers sword belt plate. The powder flask is 1830 army issue less than 5000 made. The eagle buttons are pre civil war and the trigger guard and side plate are both from a 1793 Harpers ferry rifle the first US made model!
